KUWAIT CITY, May 29: Martyr Ahmad Qabazard Team won the 22nd Martyrs Ramadan Futsal Tournament organized by Jabriya Cooperative Society after defeating Martyr Abdulhameed Khuraibet Team by a score of 5-0 in the finals that was held at the Mohammed Ismail Al-Ghanim School Hall in Jabriya area. The closing ceremony was held under the patronage and in the presence of Sheikh Fahad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah.

It was described as remarkable, befitting the reputation of the tournament, as it has earned the admiration of fans and supporters who were thrilled by the skills of players, most notably the Brazilians and Spanish footballers in the teams’ ranks. The winners of the tournament Martyr Ahmad Qabazard Team went home with a cheque worth $10,000 while the runners up, Martyr Abdulhameed Khuraibet Team, were given half of that amount as prize money.

A spectacular curtain-raiser match between the Yellow and Green Teams was held before the finals in which the Yellow Team won by 3-1. In the presence of Board Chairman Abdulhadi Al-Ghadanfari, Head of the organizing committee Ahmad Al-Majadi and members of Jabriya Cooperative Society, Sheikh Fahad Al-Jaber honored the winners and runners up as well as the teams that participated in the curtain-raiser match.

The professional players in the ranks of Qabazard Team showed a huge difference in terms of skills as they exhibited silky touch plays. The performances of the likes of Spanish Diego, Cruz Santos, De Silva Rosas, Douglas D’ Souza along with Mohammed Haidar and Yousef Al-Faraj and the goalkeeper Imad Gholoum were all amazing. Qabazard held back Khuraibet which appeared a shadow of its usual self, and rained a number of goals especially during the first half. Khuraibet players were shy on scoring goals and their defense was clumsy.
