KUWAIT CITY, Oct 8: The Public Authority for Sports officially launched the first edition of the Kuwait Oil Company Schools League for middle and high school students, both boys and girls, during a press conference at the Regency Hotel. Representatives from the Ministry of Education attended the event, including the acting Director General of the Public Authority for Sports, and officials from the Kuwait Oil Company.

Speaking at the conference, Bashar Abdullah, acting Director General of the Public Authority for Sports, described the league’s launch as a long-awaited milestone and a dream realized. He emphasized that sports are more than just games—they are a school of discipline, teamwork, perseverance, and sportsmanship.

“The launch of the schools league is a significant step toward our vision of making sports an integral part of young people’s lives.”

Bashar Abdullah also highlighted that investing in school sports is the best investment in the nation’s future, as it provides the foundation for developing local teams and national squads across all age groups.

He expressed gratitude to all partners, particularly the Ministry of Education, represented by Minister Eng. Said Jalal Al-Tabtabaei, and Kuwait Oil Company, represented by Mohammed Khalifa Abduljaleel, Vice President of Planning and Innovation. Their support through the cooperation protocol between the Ministry, Kuwait Oil Company, and the Public Authority for Sports has been instrumental in promoting and supporting school sports activities.
