KUWAIT CITY, Sept 11: Kuwait's Public Authority for Sport (PAY) decided Sunday to halt funding from its budget to Kuwait Equestrian Federation and clubs temporarily pending completion of probes by a fact-finding committee into complaints involving the authority. The committee was put together by Minister of Information and Culture, and Minister of State for Youth Affairs Abdulrahman Al-Mutairi, said PAY spokesperson Mishal Al-Hadba in press release.

The authority's board of directors formed another committee, to inspect and study board decision, according to public benefit requirements, Al-Hadba noted. He added that the council appointed its chief to approve, amend, or reject the committee's study, indicating that authority is working on regulations to distribute spending and financial aid to equestrian clubs. He further affirmed authority's keenness on applying law on all, and serving Kuwaiti athletes so that local and international participation remains unaffected. The fact-finding committee, chaired by representative of the Department of Legal Advice and Legislation, includes a number of veteran auditors, lawyers, academic, sportspeople and investigators from the Ministry of Interior.
