KUWAIT CITY, Jan 6: Paris Saint-Germain and Marseille are putting the finishing touches on their preparations for the French Super Cup, set to take place tomorrow at 9:00 PM at Jaber Al-Ahmad International Stadium.
The Marseille squad arrived late the evening before yesterday, while PSG touched down yesterday. Marseille held a training session yesterday afternoon at Jaber Mubarak Stadium, while PSG is scheduled for a single training session at the match venue today.
Sheikh Ahmed Al-Yousef, Chairman of the Kuwait Football Association, welcomed both teams’ delegations, accompanied by Bashar Abdullah, Director of the Public Authority for Sports; Faisal Al-Yateem, Secretary-General of the Higher Committee for Major Sporting Events; Abdulmohsen Al-Fuqaan, Chairman of Kuwait Airways; and Dr. Saleh Al-Majroob, Secretary-General of the Football Association.
Sheikh Al-Yousef received a message from Carlos Alberto, coach of Kuwait’s “Golden Generation” national team, expressing his gratitude for the invitation to the French Super Cup.
Due to health concerns, Alberto sent his apologies, as his doctors advised against traveling at this time. The Brazilian coach emphasized that Kuwait remains a significant part of his professional journey, recalling his tenure with the national team and the 1982 World Cup finals.
He also thanked Sheikh Al-Yousef and the people of Kuwait for their longstanding warmth and support, wishing success to all involved.
Press conferences for the match will be held today: Marseille at 4:15 PM and PSG at 6:15 PM, with one coach and one player from each team in attendance.
The teams will also hold official training sessions at Jaber Al-Ahmad International Stadium today: Marseille at 5:00 PM and PSG at 7:00 PM, ahead of tomorrow’s showdown.
