Provide property deals, co-ops urged

KUWAIT CITY, Aug 29: The Union of Cooperative Societies sent a letter to the chairpersons of the boards of directors of cooperative societies, as per the directive of the Ministry of Social Affairs on the need to provide it with the state property contracts belonging to each cooperative.

The union requested for an updated table that includes the name of the cooperative, area, contract number, plot number, automated address number, beneficiary, his civil identification number, business and site status -- occupied or vacant. Meanwhile, the union stressed the need for cooperatives to adhere to the unified engineering and technical specifications for replacing carports in accordance with the directives of the Council of Ministers and the ministry.

It urged the executive bodies in cooperative societies to review the instructions of the ministry and comply with the unified regulatory guide for replacing carports. It clarified that the dimensions and technical and engineering specifications of the carports must be identical to the sample in Mubarak Al- Kabeer, Block Seven, specifically the parking lot of the central market, while the contractor and consulting firm must guarantee the quality of work and the application of safety and security regulations.
