KUWAIT CITY, Sept 11: In a recent meeting, health sources disclosed that the Central Agency for Public Tenders (CAPT) had turned down the ministry’s proposal to float a tender to supply 79 ambulances, because the related documents were not in line with tender law no. 49/2016, and CAPT is waiting for a representative from the ministry to explain some items before presenting the proposal to the oversight agencies, reports Al-Qabas daily.
Meanwhile, sources indicated the ministry has received necessary approvals from the oversight bodies with regard to supplying medicines worth KD 1.1 million to pharmacies of the government hospitals and medical centers for children suffering from metabolic diseases, and medicines worth KD 355 thousand for treating involuntary urination (enuresis).
Also, Emergency Medical Unit at the Ministry of Health in conjunction with Amal Drugs Rehabilitation Center carried out emergency drills for the government hospitals under the theme “evacuation and shelter”.
The objective of the drills is to prepare through training the hospital personnel to deal with emergency situation and disasters at the center and to coordinate with the unit to refer emergency cases to other hospitals, and to determine readiness level of the personnel being trained.
