RIYADH, Nov 9: Captain Ali Al-Mari, Assistant Secretary of the Kuwait Olympic Committee, was elected unopposed to the Executive Board of the Islamic Solidarity Sports Federation for the 2025–2029 term. The announcement was made during the 23rd Arab National Olympic Committees meeting, held alongside the 6th Islamic Solidarity Games in Riyadh, 2025.

Representing Kuwait at the meeting were Ali Al-Mari and Mohammed Al-Khalfan, Director General of the Kuwait Olympic Committee and head of the Kuwaiti delegation. The Kuwait Olympic Committee also participated in the 14th General Assembly of the Islamic Solidarity Sports Federation, where Malaysia was selected to host the 7th edition of the Islamic Solidarity Games in 2029.

Kuwait Olympic Committee President Sheikh Fahad Al-Nasser attended the competitions to support the national team in weightlifting.

In swimming, Khaled Al-Otaibi finished 7th in the 400m individual medley after advancing from the preliminaries and also qualified for the 200m individual medley final, while Saud Alshamroukh did not make it to the 1500m freestyle final.

The weightlifting team faced a challenging first day: Sara Al-Huwail and Fahad Al-Otaibi finished 8th in the 48 kg and 60 kg categories, respectively, while Amal Al-Sharifi placed 7th in the 53 kg category. Fahad Al-Otaibi was unable to compete due to injury.
