KUWAIT CITY, Sept 27: Dr. Amthal Al-Huwaila, Minister of Social Affairs, Family and Childhood Affairs, directed the formation of an urgent and impartial investigative committee to review all procedures related to the examination for supervisory positions in cooperative societies, which was held on Sunday at a private university. In a press statement, Dr. Al-Huwaila explained that the directive followed complaints and observations received by the ministry from several applicants regarding the diffi culty of the examination, the conditions under which it was administered, the relevance of the questions to the study material provided, and their suitability to the nature and requirements of the supervisory positions.
The committee would review the content and topics covered in the study material in coordination with the entities responsible for its preparation, review, and approval. It would also examine the criteria used to design the examination and assess whether the questions were consistent with the material announced to applicants.
The committee would assess the clarity and balance of the questions, as well as their ability to fairly and objectively measure the professional competencies required for supervisory positions within cooperative societies. The committee’s review will also cover all procedures related to the preparation, storage, and electronic handling of the examination, including identifying individuals who had access to it and assessing the extent to which confidentiality and procedural safeguards were maintained.
The committee would investigate allegations concerning the possible leakage of examination questions or unauthorized access to the exam materials before the scheduled examination time. The investigation will rely on official records, electronic correspondence, and any other relevant evidence. Dr. Al-Huwaila affirmed that the ministry would not tolerate any violation that could compromise the integrity of the examinations or undermine the principle of equal opportunity among applicants. She stressed that all complaints and observations would be examined with the utmost seriousness, impartiality, and transparency.
The minister stated that appropriate measures would be taken based on the findings of the investigation, noting that the committee would submit a detailed report on its work. The report would assess the soundness of the examination procedures and the validity of the results for approval, identify any shortcomings or instances of responsibility, and set out recommendations and proposed actions based on its findings.
She emphasized the commitment to proceeding with the plan to nationalize supervisory positions in cooperative societies and to provide job opportunities for national talent based on fair and transparent criteria, in accordance with the directives of the political leadership. Dr. Al-Huwaila further stressed that no shortcomings that could hinder the plan, delay its implementation, undermine its integrity, or compromise the principle of equal opportunity among applicants would be tolerated. She affirmed that safeguarding the nationalization project and ensuring the integrity of its implementation procedures are top priorities that leave no room for compromise.
