KUWAIT CITY, Apr 29: Kuwait’s Ministry of Education has granted private schools greater operational flexibility in managing the current academic term, allowing institutions to decide whether to resume in-person classes or continue distance learning for secondary school students, in line with their approved foreign educational systems.
According to the Ministry, the decision applies exclusively to secondary-level students, while emphasizing that all final examinations for this stage will be conducted in person with immediate effect. Schools are expected to adhere to the examination frameworks set by their respective educational systems.
The Ministry also authorized private schools to independently organize the working hours of both teaching and administrative staff, enabling each institution to adapt schedules based on its operational needs and capacity. The move is intended to support continuity in academic delivery while maintaining institutional efficiency.
Meanwhile, online classes will remain in place for students in kindergarten, primary, and intermediate levels. These stages will continue to follow their respective academic calendars without interruption.
The Ministry stated that the measures are designed to ensure the smooth functioning of the educational process across private institutions, while offering schools the flexibility needed to manage varying circumstances.
