KUWAIT CITY, Sept 30: The State Security and Terrorism Crimes Court, presided over by Judge Nasser Al-Bader, with Judges Omar Al-Mulaifi, Abdullah Al-Faleh, and Salem Al-Zayed as members, issued several rulings in state security cases, ranging from imprisonment and acquittal to declarations of lack of jurisdiction, reports Al-Seyassah daily. The court sentenced Talal Al-Dabbous to five years in prison with hard labor, with immediate enforcement, for offending the entity of the Amir through social media. In a case involving the dissemination of false news on social media, the court sentenced Lulwa Al-Hussainan and Mansour Al-Muhareb to five years in prison with hard labor, with immediate enforcement, and ordered the destruction of the video posted online.
The court also ruled that it lacked jurisdiction to hear the case filed against Mahmoud Al-Failakawi. In a case involving a lawyer, the court acquitted him of the second charge. Regarding the other charge, it ruled to refrain from imposing a penalty, instead requiring him to pledge to maintain good conduct for two years, backed by a KD 5,000 bail. In addition, the court sentenced a citizen to three years in prison with hard labor and immediate enforcement for inciting sectarian strife. In cases involving the offense of insulting the entity of the Amir, the court sentenced one citizen to two years in prison with hard labor and immediate enforcement, while sentencing another to five years in prison with hard labor and immediate enforcement
