KUWAIT CITY, Jun 3: Kuwait’s Prime Minister His Highness Sheikh Ahmed Abdullah Al-Ahmed Al-Sabah conducted an inspection visit to the passenger terminal (T1) at Kuwait International Airport following a reported drone incident that caused casualties and material damage at the facility.
Accompanied by the Chairman of the Directorate General Authority of Civil Aviation, Sheikh Engineer Hamoud Mubarak Al-Hamoud Al-Sabah, the Prime Minister toured the site and was briefed by officials on the circumstances surrounding the incident, including reports of deaths and injuries, as well as an initial assessment of damage sustained across airport infrastructure.
During the visit, His Highness emphasized the need to strictly implement all safety and precautionary measures to protect workers and personnel at the site. He also directed authorities to begin necessary procedures for repairs and rehabilitation works to restore the terminal’s operational capacity at the earliest possible time.
The Prime Minister expressed appreciation to airport staff and emergency response teams for their swift handling of the situation, praising their efficiency in managing the aftermath and containing the impact of the incident.
