Prime Minister commends athletes for World Cup and Paris Olympics qualifications

KUWAIT CITY, Feb 15, (KUNA): Prime Minister Sheikh Dr. Mohammad Sabah Al-Salem Al-Sabah expressed his pride in the accomplishments of Kuwaiti athletes during the Asian Handball Championship, securing qualification for the World Handball Championship, and earning spots in the Paris Olympics. Speaking at a ceremony organized by the Public Authority for Sport to honor these athletes, Prime Minister Sheikh Dr. Mohammad Sabah Al-Salem Al-Sabah lauded the achievement, emphasizing the athletes’ strong belief, high self-confidence, and unwavering determination to achieve their goals.

Praising the patronage of His Highness the Amir Sheikh Mishal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah in supporting national renaissance and Kuwaiti sports, Prime Minister Sheikh Dr. Mohammad Sabah Al-Salem Al-Sabah conveyed the Amir’s belief that the athletes are the result of a legacy sown by forefathers.
Encouraging Kuwaiti athletes to continue making strides in sports for the benefit of the nation, Prime Minister Sheikh Dr. Mohammad Sabah Al-Salem Al-Sabah assured unwavering support from the Minister of State for National Assembly Affairs, Minister of State for Youth Affairs, Minister of State for Communications Dawood Marafi, Public Authority for Sport, and Kuwait Olympic Committee. The aim is to elevate Kuwait’s standing across all domains.

During the event, Abdullah Al-Khamees, the captain of the Kuwaiti national handball team, and Kuwaiti shooting champion Eman Al-Shammaa delivered speeches. Prime Minister Sheikh Dr. Mohammad Sabah Al-Salem Al-Sabah, accompanied by Minister Marafi, PAS Director-General Yousef Abdullah Al-Bidan, and KPC Chairman Sheikh Fahad Nasser Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah, later honored the Kuwaiti sports champions.
