KUWAIT CITY, Feb 12: In line with the ongoing cooperation between the Ministry of Education and local and regional organizations, and as part of the commitment of the ministry to support and advance the comprehensive educational process, the ministry is exerting tremendous efforts to hold high-quality educational activities that contribute to the development of the skills of students, refining their scientific and technical abilities, and promoting innovation and creative thinking.
Acting Director of the Computer Guidance Department at the ministry Mona Salim Awadh stressed that the annual Kuwait School Robotics Competition is an exceptional educational event that integrates the theoretical and practical aspects. She said the competition plays a crucial role in developing the students’ logical thinking and problem-solving skills, while fostering positive competition and teamwork. She explained that the competition serves as a stimulating educational platform that enables students to present their innovations and technological projects, as well as to provide them with hands-on experience in programming and robotics, as per the demands of digital transformation and rapid technological advancement. She stressed the importance of such competitions in identifying and nurturing promising talents and encouraging students to pursue scientific and technical specializations that support the path of sustainable development in Kuwait.
On the other hand, President of MILSET International Robotics Organization Dr. Idris Al- Waradi affirmed that the 20th Annual Kuwait School Robotics Competition for middle school students is among the most prominent competitions specializing in modern technology and Artificial Intelligence (AI). He highlighted the importance of showcasing pioneering educational initiatives that contribute to preparing a generation equipped with awareness and the tools needed for the future. He pointed out that the cooperation between the Kuwaiti Ministry of Education and MILSET refl ects Kuwait’s leading role in advancing the science and technology ecosystem and underscores its significant contribution to spreading the culture of science and modern technologies in the Arab world. It is worth noting that the results of the 20th Annual Kuwait School Robotics Competition (MILSET Asia) showed several schools winning in the categories for girls and boys
