KUWAIT CITY, Dec 22: The Undersecretary of the Ministry of Communications, Engineer Kholoud Al-Shehab, announced the signing of a contract for the postal sector for customs clearance as well as for transportation, sorting and distribution of express mail, parcels and postal packages, and home delivery all for a symbolic price, reports Al-Jarida daily. The daily quoting sources said the contract will become effective on the agreed terms and conditions at the beginning of February 2023.

Al-Shehab explained in a press statement that the signing of the contract will mean a qualitative leap in the services provided to customers, such as home delivery of postal items and even collecting parcels to be dispatched to the sender’s home country from the customer’s home. Al-Shehab added a website will be created to track postal items on an up-to-date basis, as well as a service for tracking postal items via smart phones. Meanwhile, Acting Director of Kuwait University Dr Suad Al-Fadhli said the university administration started transferring to its new headquarters in Sabah Al-Salem University City on Thursday, reports Al- Qabas daily.

Al-Fadhli is hoping for a fresh and bright start that is full of achievements; as the faculty, staff and students will be in one location soon — the new campus. “This relocation will pave way for the establishment of Abdullah Al-Salem University in the current location. The academic and administrative staff of the university will intensify their efforts and develop their capabilities to ease procedures for the establishment of the new university. We are wishing for further progress in elevating the academic status of the country with more than one public university in the interest of the people, particularly our high school graduates,” Al-Fadhli added.
