Ministry prepares for new school year

KUWAIT CITY, Aug 28: The Minister of Education and Minister of Higher Education Dr Hamid Al-Azmi said that the political leadership is keen to care for the young people and create a suitable educational environment for students, at all stages, stressing that employees of the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Higher Education and other educational institutions, are working to translate this care through their efforts by developing the educational process and preparations for the new scholastic year, reports Al-Qabas daily.

Al-Azmi told the daily the educational file in the country has witnessed qualitative changes in the past period which reflect the interest of the political leadership and the executive and legislative authorities in this file, stressing that the pursuit of developing education in the country continues in response to the directives of HH the Amir to achieve the Vision 2035.

He pointed out that the education file has achieved the quality of education and expansion in university education, in addition to a comprehensive strategy for the development of pre-university education, stressing that the wheel of development in this file will not stop, in the country where the need is to pay attention to human capital and to give Kuwaitis advanced education of best quality at all levels.

He said, creating the environment at the beginning of the school season requires intensive efforts to create a learning environment for students. Meanwhile, Ministry of Education has been carrying out preparations for the new school year including furnishing 21 new schools of all educational levels, reports Al-Anba daily.

During this time, the ministry announced the schedule of arrival of teachers contracted from Jordan and Tunisia but did not declare the schedule of the teachers from Palestine.

According to informed educational sources, the travel procedures may be one of the reasons behind the delay in the arrival of the Palestinian teachers.

The ministry has made necessary preparations to receive the teachers from Jordan who will arrive on Wednesday and Thursday in three batches, and the teachers from Tunisia who will arrive on Sept 11 and Sept 17 in two flights.

In the meantime, the Undersecretary of Ministry of Education Dr Saud Al-Harbi affirmed that the ministry aims to improve the canteens of the schools in order to provide healthy and nutritious food to the students
