Police Officers Held in Disciplinary Detention Released Ahead of Eid in Kuwait

KUWAIT CITY, May 26: The Ministry of Interior announced the release of all police officers held in disciplinary detention on the occasion of Eid al-Adha, following directives issued by First Deputy Prime Minister and Interior Minister Sheikh Fahad Yousef Saud Al-Sabah.

According to the ministry, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Interior Major General Abdul Wahab Ahmed Al-Wuhaib issued a decision ordering the release of all detained police personnel, considering the period they had already served as sufficient.

The ministry said the move reflects the leadership’s commitment to allowing military personnel to celebrate the blessed occasion with their families and loved ones, while also reinforcing humanitarian and social values within the country’s security establishment.

The decision comes as Kuwait prepares for Eid Al-Adha celebrations, with authorities extending special measures and initiatives linked to the holiday period.
