KUWAIT CITY, April 20: A Bedoun and an expatriate were arrested for attempting to run over a security officer, resisting security personnel, and consumption and possession of narcotics, reports Al-Anba. Case files indicate that patrol officers noticed a speeding American four-wheeler along Kabad Road at 2:50 am Friday. When the officers signaled for the driver (an expatriate) to pull over, the driver fled and attempted to run over a policeman. A patrol car chased the vehicle and stopped it by force.

The driver and his companion, who turned out to be residing in the country illegally, were searched. This led to the discovery of three white pills and other narcotic substances in the pocket of one of them. The officers issued citations for recklessness on the road, imprudence, endangering the lives of others, resisting police, and not wearing a seat belt. The officers also discovered that Saad Al-Abdullah Police Station had issued a warrant to arrest the illegal resident for carrying an unlicensed firearm and threatening to kill another person, in addition to the arrest warrant from the Drugs Control General Department. A case was filed at Sulaibiya Police Station and the two suspects were referred to the concerned authorities.
