PM hits ‘full throttle’ button on Terminal 2

KUWAIT CITY, Aug 25: His Highness the Prime Minister Sheikh Ahmad Abdullah Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah, accompanied by the ministers, conducted an inspection tour of the new Kuwait International Airport Terminal 2 (T2) project on Tuesday. The tour was held on the sidelines of the Cabinet meeting chaired by His Highness the Prime Minister at the new T2 terminal building. During the tour, His Highness and the ministers received a detailed briefing from Minister of Defense Sheikh Abdullah Ali Abdullah Al-Salem Al-Sabah, Minister of Public Works Dr. Noura Al-Mashaan, and Director General of the Directorate General of Civil Aviation Sheikh Humoud Mubarak Al-Humoud Al- Jaber Al-Sabah, as well as project officials. The briefing covered all aspects of the project, the latest developments in its implementation, and progress made across its three main bundles. Bundle one covering the construction, completion, furnishing and maintenance of the new passenger terminal, bundle two covering service buildings, access roads to the new terminal and car parks, and bundle three covering aircraft stands, taxiways and service buildings associated with the new terminal.

His Highness stressed the importance of the T2 project as one of Kuwait’s major development projects, urging accelerated work and emphasizing cooperation among government entities and the Ministry of Public Works to overcome implementation obstacles. He also stressed that accelerating work is essential to completing and operating the project according to the approved timetable, noting that it represents a qualitative milestone in Kuwait’s air transport sector. His Highness expressed his sincere appreciation for the significant efforts exerted by Minister of Defense Sheikh Abdullah Ali Abdullah Al-Salem Al-Sabah and Minister of Public Works Dr. Noura Al-Mashaan. He also commended the efforts of Sheikh Humoud Mubarak Al- Humoud Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, project officials, and the concerned government entities involved in expediting the implementation of the project. These entities include the Ministry of Interior, Ministry of Finance, State Audit Bureau, Fatwa and Legislation Department, and Central Agency for Public Tenders. (KUNA)
