KUWAIT CITY, Aug 19, (KUNA): The Kuwait Football Association (KFA) officially introduced Argentine coach Juan Pizzi as the new head coach of the Kuwait senior team during a press conference on Sunday.
Acting Chairman of the KFA, Hayif Al-Mutairi, highlighted the association’s strategic decision to appoint Pizzi, emphasizing his impressive track record as a crucial factor in addressing the current challenges faced by football in Kuwait.
Al-Mutairi stressed that the KFA has a clear and determined plan to guide the national team through the difficult qualification stage, ensuring that the team performs in line with the high standards of Kuwaiti football.
Speaking at the press conference, Coach Pizzi expressed his honor and excitement in leading the team. He assured me that both he and his technical staff are fully committed to working hard and sharing their extensive experience with the players.
Pizzi also announced that preparations will commence on August 24, 2024, ten days before the crucial World Cup qualifier against Jordan.
Pizzi brings valuable experience from the Gulf region, having managed the Saudi Arabia National Team from 2017 to 2019, the Al-Wasl Club in the UAE from 2022 to 2023, and the Bahrain National Team from 2023 to 2024. His career highlights include winning the Copa America with Chile in 2016 and securing the Argentine league title with San Lorenzo in 2013.
