‘Pinpoint potholes for swift action’

KUWAIT CITY, Feb 4: Minister of State for Municipal Affairs and Minister of Works, Dr. Noura Al-Mashaan, said there is a plan to address the road issues soon, particularly to get rid of potholes which have been the main irritant for motorists. During her visit to Abdullah Al- Salem, she emphasized on the urgency of implementing immediate solutions saying the Ministry of Works encourages citizens to send pictures of what she called ‘obstructive potholes’ for swift action. In her statement, Dr. Al-Mishaan acknowledged the challenges posed by ‘rough’ streets and emphasized the focus on urgent measures rather than radical ones.

She added, that teams have been formed in all governorates to follow a scheduled plan for inspecting and promptly addressing road conditions and highlighted the activation of the guarantee clause for companies contracted by the ministry to repair both primary and secondary roads assuring that this work will be done daily during the nighttime. Dr. Al-Mishaan drew attention to upcoming improvements in road repairs, particularly those leading to rural and agricultural areas such as Abdali, Wafra, and Kabad roads. She expressed the ministry’s commitment to avoiding past errors in contracting methods, company selection, asphalt mixture choices, supervision, and quality control.
