Pilot Fight Reportedly Triggers Hijack Code on Dubai-Tel Aviv Flight

TEL AVIV, Sept 30: A fight between the pilots of a passenger aircraft flying from Dubai to Tel Aviv reportedly triggered a hijacking alert before the plane diverted to Saudi Arabia and landed safely on Wednesday, Israeli daily Ynet reported.

The flight was scheduled to land at Ben Gurion Airport in Tel Aviv when an altercation reportedly broke out inside the cockpit. During the incident, a code indicating a possible hijacking was activated, according to Ynet.

The aircraft subsequently changed course and landed at Tabuk Airport in northwestern Saudi Arabia.

Israeli authorities reportedly scrambled fighter jets after the hijacking code was detected. Earlier reports said there was no confirmed hijacking, with security sources indicating that the emergency signal may have been connected to the incident involving the pilots.

The circumstances surrounding the cockpit altercation and the activation of the hijacking code were not immediately clear.
