KUWAIT CITY, March 8: The Public Institution for Social Security (PIFSS) announced that its main building sustained material damage after being targeted early Sunday. The institution confirmed that no injuries were reported.

In a statement, PIFSS said its headquarters will remain closed to the public on Sunday, March 8, while other branches will continue to receive visitors. It noted that transactions will proceed as usual through its electronic services, urging clients to use digital channels during this period.

Acting Director General Khaled Al-Mudhaf reaffirmed that PIFSS operations are continuing from secure alternative locations. He assured that all data remains safe and backed up, with most services functioning through online platforms.

Speaking to the Kuwait News Agency (KUNA), Al-Mudhaf said several security guards who were in designated shelters inside the building were safely evacuated after the attack ignited a fire. He added that the Ministry of Interior and the General Fire Force quickly responded, and senior management teams were present at the site to oversee the situation.

PIFSS confirmed that operations at its main building will remain suspended until further notice, while other branches continue functioning as planned at an operating rate of 30 percent.
