Phone cheat again traps Iranian woman

KUWAIT CITY, April 22: An unidentified Iranian woman was robbed off her money after the suspect at the other end of the phone succeeded in convincing her that she had won a prize money and got her bank and ATM card details.

Although several times it has been reported in newspapers and all media channels warning expatriates and Kuwaitis not to fall prey to those who impersonate bank employees and ask for their bank accounts numbers and pertaining details, the victim allegedly did just that and ended up losing the money. A complaint has been filed with the police.

Meanwhile, police are looking for an unidentified impersonator for robbing an Indian, reports Al-Rai daily. In his complaint to the Hawalli police the Indian said the suspect forced him to pull over while he was driving in the area and threatened to stab him if he refused to hand over his mobile phone and money he was carrying, believed to be 2,800 dinars.
