MANILA, Apr 17: The Department of Foreign Affairs of the Philippines said it has made strong representations with the Embassy of Oman in Manila regarding the requirement of a negative HIV medical certificate for Filipino travellers.

According to the DFA, the requirement applies only to tourists entering Oman under visa-free arrangements and does not cover individuals travelling on work visas.

The Embassy of Oman in Manila clarified that the policy is currently under review by Omani authorities. A meeting is scheduled next week to further discuss the matter.

The DFA expressed hope for a favourable outcome, citing the strong and long-standing bilateral relations between the Philippines and Oman.
