KUWAIT CITY, Dec 7: The acting Director General of the Public Authority for Manpower (PAM) Eng. Rabab Al-Osaimi received Hans Leo J. Cacdac, Secretary of the Department of Migrant Workers (DMW) of the Philippines, along with his delegation, at the Expatriate Labor Shelter Center in Jleeb Al-Shuyoukh.
According to an official statement by PAM on its website, the delegation's visit to the expatriate labor shelter center provided it an opportunity to review the center’s procedures for receiving expatriate workers and to observe how government agencies collaborate to ensure a safe and supportive environment for female residents. The delegation also learned about the comprehensive services offered at the center, including healthcare, psychological counseling, and legal assistance.
During the meeting, the officials were presented with detailed data and statistics concerning the center’s residents and the procedures in place.
Secretary Cacdac toured the care and rehabilitation programs available.
He praised the center’s efforts to enhance social protection and protect workers’ rights, and highlighted the importance of continued cooperation between Kuwait and the Philippines in supporting the welfare of migrant workers.
The delegation also conducted a thorough tour of the center’s facilities, noting its role as a leading model in the GCC and the wider region in terms of capacity and the quality of humanitarian services provided.
At the end of the visit, Secretary Cacdac thanked the leadership and staff of PAM, commending their ongoing efforts to enhance services and affirming that Kuwait’s initiatives reflect a strong commitment to protecting workers’ rights and maintaining a safe, humane working environment.
