MANILA, Oct 19: The Philippines has reaffirmed its solidarity with Saudi Arabia following attacks by Yemen’s Houthi group, describing the strikes as a grave threat to regional peace and stability and calling for an end to hostilities through dialogue and diplomacy.

In a government statement on Monday, Manila reiterated its support for Saudi Arabia in protecting its nationals and residents, including nearly one million Filipinos living in the Kingdom.

The Philippine government also extended its deepest condolences to the families of those killed in the attacks across several areas of Saudi Arabia and wished those injured a speedy recovery.

According to the statement, at least seven Filipino workers were wounded in the attacks, three of them critically.

Manila urged all parties to cease hostilities and pursue a peaceful resolution through dialogue and diplomatic efforts, stressing the importance of safeguarding regional peace and stability.

The government also advised Filipinos living in Saudi Arabia to follow instructions issued by Saudi authorities and maintain contact with the Philippine Embassy for updates and assistance.
