MANILA, Oct 8: Philippine Airlines (PAL) has cancelled its Manila-Riyadh-Manila flights scheduled for Thursday, October 8, citing the developing security situation in the region.

In a statement, the Philippine flag carrier said its operational teams were assessing airport conditions and their implications for subsequent flights. Affected passengers will be informed about the cancellations and available travel options.

PAL said it was continuously monitoring the situation, adding that the safety and well-being of passengers and crew remain its highest priority.

Saudi civil aviation authorities said Wednesday that one person was killed and eight others were injured in an attack on King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh. The Iran-backed Houthi militia claimed responsibility for a series of attacks, including the launch of a ballistic missile toward the airport.

PAL said its Dubai-Manila-Dubai flights remain unaffected and continue to operate as scheduled.
