KUWAIT CITY, Aug 18: The Misdemeanor Commercial Division of the Court of First Instance acquitted a pharmacist of charges of advertising a medical drug without obtaining a license from the Ministry of Health and operating a medical office without a license. Lawyer Nawaf Ali Al-Wuhaib stated that his client was not the person named in the charges and had no connection to the alleged incident. He indicated that the act described in the second charge did not fall under the criminal provisions set out in the indictment. Lawyer Al-Wuhaib further argued that his client’s lack of knowledge of the non-criminal laws and regulations governing medical licenses negated any criminal intent. He emphasized that his client had consistently denied the charges and that the case file lacked conclusive evidence sufficient to justify a conviction.
