DOHA, April 19 (KUNA): Kuwaiti rider Hussein Al-Kharafi claimed top honors on Saturday, winning the Individual Youth category at the FEI Group 7 Championships in Doha.
Riding his horse Reeve, Al-Kharafi delivered a flawless round, completing the course with zero penalty points in a time of 65.87 seconds to secure the gold medal amid strong regional competition featuring more than 100 riders.
Qatari riders completed the podium, with Ibrahim Al-Mahmoud taking silver on Dorferheide after finishing in 52.34 seconds with four penalty points, while Abdullah Al-Jalandani earned bronze aboard Cavallinia in 55.46 seconds, also with four penalties.
The prestigious competition, which began on Wednesday, carried a total prize fund of €318,000 (around $375,000) and served as a key regional platform for emerging talent under the supervision of the International Federation for Equestrian Sports (FEI).
