Bashar Abdullah – Acting Director of the Public Authority for Youth and Sports

KUWAIT CITY, June 29: The Acting Director General of the Public Authority for Youth and Sports, Bashar Abdullah, confirmed that the Authority is utilizing all its resources to support all national teams, including the national football team, during its upcoming journey in the final qualifiers for the 2026 World Cup, which will begin next September. The draw placed Kuwait in Group B alongside South Korea, Iraq, Jordan, Oman, and Palestine.

Abdullah stated that immediately after the draw ceremony, he communicated directly with Kuwait Football Association officials to ensure full support during this crucial stage. He expressed his readiness to provide everything necessary for the team in the coming period. Abdullah emphasized his full confidence in the players to satisfy fans eager for success, highlighting the need for everyone to rally behind the team to achieve their goals.

Additionally, the Director General reiterated the Authority’s commitment to supporting Kuwaiti athletes participating in the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, the world’s largest sporting event. He assured continuous follow-up on all details concerning the participants to create a positive and effective environment for their success.

Abdullah also stressed that the Authority’s doors are open to all athletes and especially to successful clubs and federations.
