Patents and trademarks generate KD 3.6M in H1 2025: MOCI
The Ministry of Commerce and Industry reports over KD 3.6 million ($11.8 million) in revenues from patents and trademarks in H1 2025.

KUWAIT CITY, Oct 23: The Ministry of Commerce and Industry (MOCI) announced Thursday that revenues from patents and trademarks exceeded 3.6 million Kuwaiti dinars (approximately 11.8 million USD) during the first half of 2025, with around 35,000 transactions completed at the Trademarks and Patents Department.

According to official statistics provided to the Kuwait News Agency (KUNA), the Trademarks Department handled the majority of these transactions, completing about 31,000 operations and generating fees exceeding 3 million dinars (roughly 9.9 million USD). The most common activities included trademark registration applications, followed by publication and certification processes.

The Patents Department recorded approximately 4,000 transactions with fees totaling more than 567,000 dinars (around 1.84 million USD). Companies accounted for the largest share of patent transactions, completing 2,901 filings with fees amounting to 509,000 dinars (about 1.65 million USD), while individuals conducted 1,254 transactions, incurring fees of 58,000 dinars (nearly 189,000 USD).

Additionally, the Industrial Models Department completed 361 transactions, collecting fees of approximately 2,600 dinars (around 8,650 USD). Depositing industrial models led the department’s workload, followed by granting, publishing, and renewing models.
