KUWAIT CITY, Jun 26: A stabbing incident in Kuwait’s Khaitan area ended with the arrest of an Arab expatriate accused of attempting to murder a fellow citizen, after bystanders intervened and stopped the attacker.

According to security sources, the Ministry of Interior’s operations room received an emergency report about an attempted murder near a local bank. Police patrols were immediately dispatched to the scene, where officers found a man in his thirties suffering from a stab wound to his hand.

The suspect was reportedly overpowered by passersby, who managed to restrain him and recover the knife allegedly used in the attack before police arrived.

During questioning, officers found that the suspect appeared to be under the influence of narcotics. A search of his belongings led to the discovery of drugs and related paraphernalia.

The suspect, born in 1988, was taken into custody and referred to the General Department for Drug Control for further investigation into the source of the narcotics found in his possession.

Authorities said he faces multiple charges, including attempted murder and possession of narcotics with intent to use or traffic.
