Passenger and Cargo Traffic Soars at Kuwait International Airport

KUWAIT CITY, Nov 8: The Directorate General of Civil Aviation has released a report today, indicating that the total passenger traffic to and from Kuwait International Airport in October reached 1,013,505 passengers. Imad Al-Jalawi, the Acting Director General of the department, informed Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) that the airport experienced an 11 percent increase in passenger traffic, a 27 percent rise in aircraft movements, and a 10 percent surge in air cargo traffic in October compared to the same month last year.

Al-Jalawi further stated that the number of arriving passengers in October was 447,013 while departing passengers numbered 566,492. Transit passengers totaled 186,359, reflecting a 38 percent increase compared to the previous October. In terms of aircraft movements, a total of 11,169 flights were operated to and from Kuwait International Airport in October, a significant increase from the 8,807 flights recorded during the same period the previous year.

Regarding air freight, Al-Jalawi reported that the total freight movement for October was approximately 19.4 million kilograms, with incoming freight at about 15.2 million kilograms and outgoing freight at about 4.1 million kilograms. Popular destinations during this period included Dubai, Cairo, Jeddah, Istanbul, Sabiha, and Doha.
