Minister of State for Youth and Sports Affairs Tareq Al-Jalahma leads the attendees at the launch ceremony of the Kuwait Youth and Sports Season.

KUWAIT CITY, Sept. 14 (KUNA): The Public Authority for Sport (PAS) launched the “Kuwait Season for Youth and Sports,” a national initiative aimed at organizing and developing sports and youth activities and promoting Kuwait as a destination for international events.

The launch took place during a special festival at the Sheikh Jaber Al-Ahmad Cultural Centre, under the patronage of the Cabinet and in the presence of the Minister of State for Youth and Sports Affairs, Tareq Al-Jalahma, and Asimah Governor Sheikh Abdullah Salem Al-Ali Al-Sabah.

The authority also unveiled its new visual identity following the merger of the Public Authority for Youth and the Public Authority for Sport.

In his speech, Al-Jalahma described the “Kuwait Season for Youth and Sports” as a national initiative involving both the public and private sectors, with Kuwait Finance House as a strategic partner.

He said the initiative seeks to organize and develop a wide range of activities while strengthening Kuwait’s position as a key destination for hosting international youth, cultural, and sporting events.

The minister added that the season is expected to attract visitors and participants from inside and outside Kuwait, supporting the tourism sector and contributing to economic growth.

He noted that the initiative would stimulate several vital sectors, including hospitality, transportation, restaurants, and related services, while creating new employment opportunities and encouraging local and international investment in event-related projects and infrastructure.

Meanwhile, Kuwait Season Project Head Waleed Al-Saqabi said the new visual identity was inspired by Kuwait’s national heritage, incorporating visual elements and colors derived from the state emblem.

He explained that the logo was designed to resemble the sail of a traditional Kuwaiti ship, reflecting the country’s maritime heritage. It also incorporates the shape of a falcon’s beak, symbolizing strength, pride, and ambition while reflecting the Kuwaiti people’s deep connection with the desert environment.
