‘Partial ban includes personnel of diplomatic missions, envoys’

KUWAIT CITY, March 7: The partial ban which has been imposed by the government of Kuwait from 5:00 pm to 5:00 am also includes personnel of the diplomatic missions and ambassadors, reports Al-Rai daily quoting highly reliable government sources. The same sources said those wanting to leave their residences will have to take permission from the Ministry of Interior website (and receive a barcode).

The sources said ambassadors, diplomats and other personnel working in the missions are not exempt from the decision from the partial ban. The sources concluded in the event that any diplomat leaves, legal measures will be taken, and the issue of breaking a ban and not adhering to the laws and decisions of the country will be recorded. Meanwhile, the Ministry of Education confirmed its readiness to work during the partial curfew period based on a comprehensive plan under the supervision of acting Undersecretary Faisal Al-Maqsid, reports Al-Qabas daily quoting sources from the educational sector. Sources told the daily that the evening classes for elementary students will continue despite the partial lockdown as the classes are conducted online.

Sources affirmed there is no change in the study schedule because teachers will conduct classes from home during the evening period, pointing out certain recommendations should be handled in a fl exible manner. Sources added there is no change in other academic levels as well. Regarding the supervisory job or new hire interviews, sources revealed the interviews will be rescheduled to the morning period instead of the evening; while the venue will be a school which will be announced later.

In the meantime, distribution of food supplies will not be affected during the curfew period through the established points of sale including cooperative societies and supermarkets, reports Al-Qabas daily. The daily confirmed there will be no home delivery. However, the sources indicated the issuance of permits to food companies that supply goods to the cooperative societies and supermarkets will be done through the Ministry of Commerce and Industry.
