KUWAIT CITY, Oct 24: Residents of Khaitan Block 7 have voiced growing frustration over the persistent parking chaos allegedly caused by several décor shops that have occupied public parking spaces with half-lorries and water tankers.
According to a complaint received from a resident, four décor shops in the area have been using the parking lots as storage and loading zones, leaving little to no space for residents to park their own vehicles. “These half-lorries are permanently parked with décor materials loaded on them, and water tankers often take up the remaining spaces. It’s becoming impossible for residents to find parking,” the complainant said.
He added that the situation worsens during delivery hours, when shop vehicles block the roadside, forcing residents to park their cars improperly. This has led to frequent disputes and traffic congestion in the narrow streets of the block.
Residents are urging the concerned authorities — particularly the Kuwait Municipality and traffic departments — to inspect the area and take prompt action to restore order. “We hope the authorities will intervene and ensure that public parking spaces are used for residents, not businesses,” the resident appealed.
