KUWAIT CITY, Oct 14: Hawally traffic officers have begun immobilizing vehicles parked illegally and obstructing traffic on main and internal roads as part of efforts to improve traffic flow and curb haphazard parking.
According to a security source, officers are issuing traffic citations and placing wheel clamps on offending vehicles. Notices are being left on the vehicles instructing owners to visit the Hawally Governorate Traffic Patrol Department to complete the procedures required to have the clamps removed.
The source warned that any attempt to tamper with or remove the clamps could expose vehicle owners to legal action.
The campaign aims to prevent traffic obstruction, particularly on internal roads leading to schools and government offices, where vehicle movement and visitor traffic can be heavy.
The source explained that owners must visit the relevant traffic authority and pay the prescribed traffic fine before the wheel clamp can be removed.
The Traffic Department stressed the importance of complying with parking regulations and keeping internal roads clear to ensure smoother traffic movement and prevent inconvenience to other road users.
