KUWAIT CITY, May 17: The committee tasked to investigate withdrawn citizenship files is expected to submit its first report to the higher authority for appropriate decision soon, reports Al-Rai daily.According to a source, the committee’s report contains files of four persons — Abdullah Al- Bargesh, Ahmad Al-Jabr, Sa’ad Al-Ajmi and Nabil Al-Awadhi, The source disclosed the committee met a few days ago, during which the members decided to forward its report about the four files to the higher authority. The committee recommended restoring citizenship of these four personalities — back to their previous articles. The source pointed out the decision to restore previous articles and canceling decrees could put the government in a difficult situation, because many affected persons might decide to file lawsuits demanding for compensation for mental and financial losses and damages. He said the outcome of lawsuits could cost the government a huge amount which will be taken from public funds. He added the decision could also put integrity of the government and concerned security authorities to test, wondering why the committee arrived at such a recommendation when issues concerning the four people could have been resolved in an acceptable manner.
