PAM inks co-op deal with KRCS on spreading rights’ awareness

KUWAIT CITY, July 11: The Public Authority for Manpower (PAM) announced on Tuesday, the signing of a cooperation agreement with the Kuwait Red Crescent Society, aimed at spreading awareness, developing a culture of human rights and consolidating its values. The Public Authority for Manpower said in a press statement that the agreement came under the directives of the First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Sheikh Talal Al-Khaled Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah aimed at the necessity of cooperation with civil society institutions.

PAM added that the agreement is a strategic humanitarian partnership that serves all segments of society to promote a culture of human rights and contribute to ensuring its practice, praising the humanitarian role of the Kuwait Red Crescent Society, especially its efforts to promote and spread the culture of volunteer work. On the other hand, the Public Authority for Manpower discussed with the Kuwaiti Society for Human Rights a project ‘Sahem’, which aims to enhance the role of community leaders in oversight and accountability to improve public services.

It is noteworthy that the ‘Sahem’ project aims to build the capabilities and skills of the government, community leaders, and activists with regard to the concepts of good governance, accountability, and the use of mechanisms for monitoring and improving public services. It also aims to improve government responses to citizens’ needs and build community initiative that promotes good governance, integrity and transparency in society. (KUNA)
