PAM adopts mechanism to receive requests during partial ‘lockdown’

‘Finance’ responsible for transferring salaries

KUWAIT CITY, April 2: The spokesperson for Public Authority for Manpower (PAM) and Director of Public Relations and Information Department Aseel Al-Mazyed, said PAM has adopted a mechanism to receive requests for registration of unemployment insurance during partial ‘lockdown’ by correspondence through WhatsApp numbers only, adding not calls will not be entertained, reports Al-Anba daily.

In a statement to the daily, Al-Mazyed indicated the dates for submitting applications will be from 4:00 pm to 9:00 pm the complete with all required documents and the response will be made within 24 hours. She added the applicant must send a signed undertaking after the approval of the transaction.

The applicant will be provided a password and he/she must confirm its receipt and confirmed the transaction requests are dealt with according to the dates specified in the schedule of dates previously taken from the PAM website.

Regarding the required documents, she said a copy of the academic certificate, a copy of the civil ID, a certificate of salary transfer from the bank, and the continuity of marriage for men. Meanwhile, the Ministry of Finance will be in charge of completing procedures to transfer the salaries of employees in ministries and governmental authorities to their bank accounts, in cooperation with the Civil Service Commission (CSC) and Central Bank of Kuwait (CBK) before Ramadan, whether work in these institutions will resume on April 12 or not, reports Al-Anba daily. Furthermore, the pension of retirees will be transferred to their accounts on April 9.
