ISLAMABAD, March 16: The total number of confirmed cases of Coronavirus in Pakistan has reached 136, while Afghanistan health ministry has reported 21 cases in the country.

The authorities have recorded single largest increase in novel coronavirus cases in the country on Monday with 68 more cases confirmed in country's southern Sindh province.

Provincial Health Minister of Sindh Azra Fazal Pechuho has confirmed that the total tally of the confirmed cases of coronavirus in the province has soared to 103 on Monday. There are 76 confirmed cases in Sukkur (all patients arrive from Taftan border), 26 in Karachi and one in Hyderabad, she confirmed.

Meanwhile, Provincial health minister of northern Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) province Taimur Khan Jhagra on Monday reported its first 15 cases of novel coronavirus when individuals received in K-P from Taftan have been tested positive. So far, 10 confirmed cases were reported in southwestern Balochistan province, three in Gilgit Baltistan region, four in federal capital Islamabad and one in eastern Punjab province. Moreover, Afghan Health Ministry on Monday has reported five new positive coronavirus cases in Afghanistan, bringing the country's total to 21. Around 263 samples were tested, out of which 21 were positive, said the ministry. (KUNA) --
