ISLAMABAD, May 24: Pakistan’s Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar has praised U.S. President Donald Trump’s commitment to diplomacy and dialogue, following a high-level phone call involving multiple regional leaders and senior U.S. officials, as part of broader efforts aimed at advancing regional peace.

In a statement on Sunday, Dar commended what he described as President Trump’s leadership, along with the participation of senior U.S. officials, including Vice President J.D. Vance, Secretary of State Marco Rubio, and other members of the U.S. team. He said the recent telephone call marked “a significant step closer toward regional peace,” highlighting the importance of continued diplomatic engagement.

Meanwhile, Pakistan Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif also welcomed the development, saying in a post on X that he congratulated President Trump for his “extraordinary efforts” to promote peace and for leading what he described as a “useful and productive” call involving the leaders of Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Türkiye, Egypt, the UAE, Jordan, and Pakistan.

Sharif noted that Pakistan was represented in the call by Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, and expressed appreciation for his role in the discussions. He added that the talks provided an opportunity to exchange views on the current regional situation and explore pathways toward lasting peace.

The prime minister further stated that Pakistan would continue its peace efforts with “utmost sincerity” and expressed hope that the next round of talks could be hosted soon, signaling continued diplomatic momentum among participating countries.
