PAKISTAN, Jan 7: In response to recent incidents of maritime security, the Pakistan Navy has taken measures to enhance its presence in the Arabian Sea. A spokesperson for the navy confirmed the deployment of warships and emphasized the ongoing aerial surveillance of commercial passages. The primary objective of this deployment is to ensure the safety of both Pakistani and international merchant ships.

The navy underscored that such patrols are a routine practice, with warships consistently patrolling the Arabian Sea to maintain a constant presence. The statement highlighted the Pakistan Navy's commitment to its national responsibility in preserving maritime peace and order in the region.

This decision to bolster naval presence comes amid rising tensions, particularly in the Red Sea, where the Iran-backed Houthi militia in Yemen has been targeting commercial ships. These actions have escalated following the outbreak of the Israel-Hamas war, prompting nations, including Pakistan, to enhance their maritime security measures.
