KUWAIT CITY, Oct 23: Kabaddi, a traditional and cultural sport of Punjab, continues to bring communities together on both sides of the region. In Kuwait, this heritage was celebrated recently, with a friendly Kabaddi match between Pak Kuwait Kabaddi Club, consisting of Pakistani players living in Kuwait, and Baba Fateh Singh Kabaddi Club, featuring Indian players residing in Kuwait.

The match was held at Khaitan Stadium and was organized by prominent members of the Pakistani community, including Chaudhry Shamshad Cheema, Tariq Ali Mohsin, Chaudhry Mudassar Gujer, Chaudhry Mohammad Saghir, Shehzad Ahmed (PQNCK), Bashir Ahmed Tarar, Rehan Zafer, and Jehangir Ali. The stadium was packed with around 10,000 spectators, all passionately supporting their respective teams.

The game was fiercely contested, keeping the audience on the edge of their seats throughout. In the end, Pak Kuwait Kabaddi Club emerged victorious, defeating Baba Fateh Singh Club with a score of 36-27.

The Chief Guest, Mr. Hamza Tauqeer, Community Welfare Attaché at the Embassy of Pakistan, presented the trophy to the winning captain. Speaking at the event, he praised Kabaddi as a traditional and cultural game of Punjab and expressed his delight at seeing the enthusiasm and excitement of the expatriate community for this sport. He congratulated the organizers for hosting such a large-scale and culturally significant event.

Individual awards were also presented to players in recognition of their outstanding performances. Notable members of the Pakistani community, including Pir Amjad Hussain, Shamshad Khan Tanoli, Dr. Shuja ul Din, Dr. Jehan Zeb, Mian Mohammad Arshad, Mohammad Zubair Sherfi, Shahzad ul Rehman Butt, and others, were present to cheer on both teams.

Additionally, the organizers presented a commemorative shield to the Chief Guest, Mr. Hamza Tauqeer, in appreciation of his support for the event.
