PAI slams attack on inspectors

‘We’re doing duty for country’

KUWAIT CITY, April 4: The Board of Directors of the Workers Union in the Public Authority for Industry (PAI) condemned the attack on inspectors of the Industrial Safety and Environmental Control Department, who merely carried out their duties towards their country and community when they checked an establishment in Al-Rai Industrial Area that produced disinfectants and sterilizers without a license from the concerned State authorities.

In a press statement, the board retorted: “Is it reasonable, in these difficult and exceptional circumstances that the country and the whole world are going through, for some of those who violated the law to attack employees working under these conditions and expose themselves and their families to disease – God forbid, all this in the service of the country and dedication towards the society in general?”

The board praised the efforts of Director General of the Authority Abdul-Karim Taqi and other officials for standing with the inspectors, as well as the Ministry of Interior which took legal measures. The board called on the concerned authorities to protect the employees of PAI while performing their duties to ensure this incident does not recur.
