KUWAIT CITY, Oct 23: The Public Authority for Industry has punished 14 industrial firms that own factories for violating the “industry” law, by encroaching on state property of up to 135 square meters, in addition to engaging in activities other than the activity for which the license has been issued and other violations, reports Al-Jarida daily. The Authority said these industrial companies are located in the Amghara, Shuwaikh, Al Rai, Mina Abdullah, and Fahaheel industrial areas.

The violations varied between engaging in the activity of blacksmithing, which is different from the activity assigned to it, and housing for workers, and carrying out activities without an industrial license. The daily added also there were diesel containers placed randomly on the premises without a license and the presence of unlicensed attics.

The penalties included warning and obligating their owners to remove the violations within a maximum period of one month. These violations came based on the recommendations of the Permanent Committee for Industrial Violations, according to the minutes of violations committed and in violation of the Industry Law and its executive regulations, where the industrial inspection teams discovered that these companies had violated Law No. 56 of 1996 regarding the issuance of the Industry Law and its executive regulations.
