KUWAIT CITY, Oct 11: The Public Authority for Housing Welfare has announced the successful completion of groundwork and the initiation of the main road contract works and infrastructure service networks in the South Sabah Al-Ahmad Residential City project, reports Al-Rai daily.

This signifies the completion of constructing 1,110 residential apartments in the Sabah Al-Ahmad Residential City. In its monthly report for September, PAHW stated, "The number of housing pending applications has reached 91,096 so far; while housing services provided to citizens have reached 1,060 services through service centers, 22,581 through the Sahl application, and 137 through the website." Additionally, the report highlighted progress in various housing projects.

One of the housing projects in distribution is the city of South Saad Al-Abdullah, comprising a total of 24,509 housing units, including 22,153 residential plots and 2,356 various housing products. The city is allocated to applicants until December 2006, with a total of 6,992 citizens already assigned units.

During the month, 538 housing units were distributed, bringing the total number of distributed units in the project to 9,413 housing units.

The report shed light on "infrastructure" projects for housing in the East Sabah Al-Ahmad residential area, encompassing 1,184 houses. The first contract involving the construction of 587 houses achieved a contractual completion rate of 64 percent, with an actual completion rate of 58 percent. As for the second contract, including the construction of 597 homes, the contractual completion rate was 65 percent, and the actual completion rate was 50 percent.

Regarding the Sabah Al-Ahmad Residential City contract, which involved the construction of 1,110 residential apartments, it has been fully completed. In the Wafra residential expansion, including the construction of 53 industrial plots, the contractual completion rate reached 23 percent, and the actual completion rate reached 28 percent.

Additionally, preparations and work have commenced for the contract encompassing main roads, infrastructure services networks, and rainwater tanks in the South Sabah Al Ahmad Residential City project.

The report also highlighted ongoing construction efforts, with a total of 53 public buildings currently being constructed.

These are distributed into 3 buildings in Al-Mutlaa City, 31 buildings in South Abdullah Al-Mubarak, 16 buildings in East Sabah Al-Ahmad, and 3 buildings in Al-Wafra Expansion. Furthermore, the report mentioned the issuance of construction tenders and services, including two tenders for lighting the suburbs N10, N6, N8, N7, N9, and N11 in Al-Mutlaa. The signed contracts included two contracts for the surface asphalt layer in the Wafra project, and a telephone exchange and a main post office in Al-Mutla’a City. In terms of building permits, the report provided details on the number of delivered and ready-for-delivery plots in various regions.
