KUWAIT CITY, Oct 9: The Capital Governorate Traffic Department has launched a series of intensive field campaigns targeting traffic law violators, in line with the Ministry of Interior’s ongoing efforts to uphold road safety and enforce legal compliance across Kuwait.
The crackdown comes under the broader framework of the Traffic and Operations Affairs Sector’s mission to deter reckless driving, address dangerous road behaviors, and maintain public order on the streets.
According to an official statement, the campaigns focused on identifying and penalizing violations of traffic rules and etiquette, particularly improper overtaking and actions that obstruct the flow of traffic in densely populated areas of the governorate.
The operation resulted in the following:
- 7,658 various traffic citations issued
- 594 violations recorded for illegal overtaking and traffic obstruction
- 17 individuals arrested for violating residency and labor laws
- 11 individuals wanted by authorities apprehended
- 11 violators referred to preventive detention
- 19 vehicles and motorcycles impounded for serious traffic offenses
The General Traffic Department emphasized that these field campaigns will continue across all six governorates, reinforcing the ministry’s zero-tolerance policy toward traffic violations.
Authorities reiterated their call for motorists to comply with all traffic regulations, stressing that adherence to the law is essential for ensuring the safety of all road users and preserving public order.
