Over 6,213 test swipes carried out

Four new COVID-19 cases found

KUWAIT CITY, March 10, (Agencies): Kuwait announced Tuesday four new coronavirus cases registered over the past 24 hours to increase total number of infectees to 69.

One of the four infectees was a person who came from Iran, another from Azerbaijan and two citizens who flew from Egypt, Ministry of Health spokesman Dr Abdullah Al-Sanad told a daily press briefing. He added that all recorded cases are receiving proper medical treatment in the hospital, including four persons admitted into the intensive care unit, three stable and one in critical condition.

He pointed out that the number of swipes carried out by the Ministry exceeded 6,213, stressing that medical teams are still carrying out their tasks to assure the safety and health of citizens in quarries.

On the concern of returning citizens from Egypt, Al-Sanad said that there are 284 passengers, who underwent all preventive measures that the Health Ministry follows in accordance with World Health Organization’s guidelines.

He pointed out that a WHO delegation currently visiting the country are holding, for the second consecutive day, continuous meetings with the concerned departments and sectors to combat the virus, noting that there are 110,000 cases around the world.

He added that the number of infections outside China reached more than 29,000 cases and about 81,000 cases in China, as the virus spreaded to 106 countries around the world. He noted that the number of recovery reached 62,000 cases all over the world.
