Over 24,000 Traffic Violations and 38 Wanted Arrests in Kuwait This Week

KUWAIT CITY, Feb 26: The General Traffic Department reported that between February 16 and 22, 2026, authorities issued 24,783 traffic violations across the country. During the same period, 42 individuals violating residency laws were apprehended, and 331 motorcycles were impounded. In addition, police apprehended 38 wanted persons and seized 12 vehicles sought by the judiciary.

The week also saw a total of 255 traffic collisions resulting in injuries and 1,515 collisions without injuries, highlighting both the high density of traffic and the ongoing efforts of law enforcement to control violators and enhance road safety.

Meanwhile, the General Directorate of Emergency Police recorded 42 arrests of wanted individuals and 14 arrests related to expired residency permits. The department also seized two vehicles wanted by the judiciary, dispersed six fights, issued 2,083 traffic violations, impounded eight vehicles, and responded to five pedestrian accidents.

Authorities emphasized that these coordinated field campaigns reflect continued efforts to maintain public safety, enforce traffic laws, and address violations of residency and judicial regulations.
